Hi, due to the ammount of problem with our old system and the fact that many, myself included, felt that the old webpage was a bit hard to navigatem we have now moved to a much better sollution. I’m going to list some improvements here over the old webpage. When you are done reading you should go and register in the forum, link there can be found on top of the page.

There are two areas of the webpage, the information part and the forum and both has many wonderful improvements over the old system. I’ll start with the information part, where you are right now, wich is built with the wonderful Wordpress blogging system.

Navigation
It’s a lot easier to find your way around and the number of clicks to get to any certain area is a lot less then with the old webpage. An example is the very easily found New User Information and Forum links on top of the page.

Updating
The wordpress system to update with new blogposts or new pages are very easy to learn and a lot faster then what we had in the old, Joomla based, webpage.

Logo
A lot of us liked the old logo but some have pointed out that there were only horde characters in there. This new logo of ours isn’t quite as shiny but it has some extra features. It will grow and fill up with time. New characters will be added every now and then, including characters from our guild. So keep an eye on the logo and report every time you see a change in the forum. First one to report a change will win a prize.

Comments
You can now comment on all posts, wich is a big improvement. So comment away!

Movies

I’ll say no more.

Other things
Music, podcasting, easier to give others access to write, easier to upload images, easier to create good looking posts, lots more fun plugins to install if we want more like polls…wich we have in the forum right now.

Now let’s go over to the forum and see what more fun we can have there that we couldn’t with the old forum and what other improvements there is. The forum is built on SMF forum system.

Registration
The registration is both faster and easier. Sometimes you get a blank white page but the registration has gone through anyway. In the old system we had some problem with registrations not going through at all.

Profile
More info to put in your profile and easy access to all members profiles.

Calendar
A wonderful calendar function where we can have guild events, raids etc. Each post in the calendar link to a post in the raids/events part of the forum where people can comment and sign up for the event.

Messages
You can now send messages to eachother in the forum system.

Dancing avatars
There are plenty of dancing wow avatars to choose from or you can upload your own avatar (100×100px).

Statistics
We get planty more statistics on user activity with this new forum system.

Polls
It’s now very easy to set up one or more polls for voting. One big step for guild democracy.

Karma
Rate other posters up and down. Good posts should be rewarded with good karma and whining in the forum should be rewarded with bad karma =)

WoW characters
Much like in the official WoW forums you can have your characters show next to your posts with a direct link to your armory. Up to five characters can be shown.

Videos and item links
Just like in the forum we can post videos and itemstat links in the forum.

Many other features as well that I won’t bore you with, especially in the administration. I hope to see more activity in the forum from now on =D Will try to have some forum competition.
